Echelle inducted into OK Higher Education Hall of Fame

echelle_hofOSU Regents Professor Anthony Echelle is one of eight educators who will be inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame on Oct. 27. He has been a member of the OSU zoology faculty since 1980. In 2004, he was named a Regents Professor at OSU, which is the most prestigious rank that may be attained for scholarly accomplishments by faculty.

He is a well known authority on the conservation and evolution of desert fishes and has published more than 100 papers and book chapters on the topic. Echelle has educated numerous graduate students who have gone on to key positions in conservation agencies and universities. Dr. Echelle’s impact on conservation and education cannot be overstated.

The awards banquet is at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
