32 Freshmen Selected to Participate in the Research Scholars Program
Thirty-two freshmen were chosen as Life Sciences Freshmen Research Scholars (LSFRS). The Scholars program is a newly-funded initiative by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to engage freshmen in research during their first year at OSU. LSFRS is overseen by faculty in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, BOtany, Chemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, and Zoology. Congrats Freshmen Scholars! Four Seniors from the Department of Integrative Biology were selected as Oklahoma State Seniors of Significance. Grad Students Recieve Toxicology Fellowships
The Oklahoma State University Interdisciplinary Toxicology Program awarded its first graduate fellowships to five doctoral students, four of whom belong to the Department of Integrative Biology. Each award recipient will receive an annual stipend of $2,500 for research projects in toxicology, the study of the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms. Congratulations to graduate students Adam Simpson, Shane Morrison, Patrick Cusaac, and Chris Goodchild, and their faculty mentors Jason Belden, Scott McMurry, and Sarah DuRant. |
