Specific Interests

A native Kansan, I graduated in 1985 from Saint Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas with a B.S. in Biology. For 9 years I taught at various public schools and community colleges while raising my family. In 1998 I became a computer programmer and programmed for different corporations for 16 years. During this time I made a number of interesting cretaceous fossil discoveries, most of which now reside in the Sternburg Museum in Hays, Kansas. Now, with my children grown and gone, I’m going back to school at Oklahoma State University to study limnology and eventually gain a PhD in Biology. I'm currently working in Dr. Dzialowski's lab where I am studying freshwater systems. I prefer freshwater invertebrates, but I'm happy to work with just about any freshwater critter, be it Bluegill, Daphnia or algae.
