Biology Student Recognized at IB Undergraduate Research Symposium

Anna Smith, a sophomore Biology student, was recognized for the presentation of her research at the Karen L. Smith Undergraduate Research Symposium. Anna is studying the influence of immune challenges that induce sickness behavior on pair bond maintenenace in social birds. Behaviors that maintain pair bonds are important to reproductive success of bonded pairs. Effects of disease on pair bonds could influence both reproductive success of individuals and how diseases move through populations of wild animals. Anna's research was in collaboration with graduate student Ashley Love and faculty members Sarah DuRant and Shawn Wilder.  Congratulations Anna!
