My research focuses on zooplankton communities in Oklahoma reservoirs and rivers as it relates to food availability for Paddlefish. I am characterizing species abundance and diversity, as well as looking at spatial dynamics and distribution in reservoirs and rivers. I hope to assess differences within and between systems with self-sustaining and not self-sustaining populations of Paddlefish to better understand potential barriers to recovery efforts. Other interests include the effects of non-native species on food web dynamics and species interactions, community ecology, and aquatic ecosystem management.
