Avian immunology, transgenerational immunity, early viral infection simulation

B.S. 2018, Lees-McRae College

Specific Interests

My interests are in the long-term consequences of early viral infection on behavior, immunity, and maternal effects in vertebrates. I am currently using Zebra Finches as my model organism and a synthetic virus to simulate infection. My focus is on examining the long-term effects of early viral simulation on nestling and adult behavior, nestling and adult immunity, and maternal antibodies. Other interests include transgenerational immunity and immune priming in invertebrate models.
